It's been a couple of years since I last created a Dia De Los Muertos piece. So here is the most current muse and add to my growing collection of Day Of The Dead creations.
I was moved to co-create this piece in a reflection to shine more light into the darkness, for we can all use more love and light.
I found this story below to be a perfect fit, and the thoughts are very relevant to me. I remain grateful for the image I was allowed to co-create here.
"The barrilete, or giant kite, holds significant cultural importance in Guatemala, particularly during the Day of the Dead celebrations on November 1st. This tradition, rooted in Mayan ancestry, involves flying colorful kites to honor and communicate with deceased ancestors, symbolizing a connection between the living and the spiritual world."
"La Catrina's Kite"
11" x 14" This is a collage on watercolor paper.
This will be set in a black frame.
