In my attempt to capture the same fire as the first "Hibiscus Dream." I have learned that all paper is not created equal when adding hibiscus to the paper.
On Hibiscus Dream, I used a cold pressed watercolor paper and achieved reds and oranges. On the non-cold pressed watercolor paper, I get blues and purples. I did not figure this out and tried another piece with this same non-cold press, thinking it was my application process? But no, and now I know, and so do you. Thank you kindly for following along.
On the piece, I put things on the paper randomly placed to block out some clear spaces. When the drying was done, I spied what looks like Grumpy Care Bear 🐻 with the adding of a bit of gouache here and there, and here you have it.
